The Best Caramel Apple Dip
This Caramel Apple Dip is Sinfully Delicious
The crunch of a perfect crisp apple is only made better when dipped in caramel. Apples are nutritious, healthy, and for the most part low in calories. But not when you dip them in this sinfully delicious, butter filled, caramel dip. Don't even try to count the calories in this snack, you don't want to know, trust me. Just enjoy.
I've been making this apple dip for several years and everyone I share it with asks for the recipe. My coworker and I believe the apple is only the carrier for the caramel, we dip the apple as far as we can into this caramel sauce and end up with strings of caramel on our chin and smiles on our faces.
The recipe says this makes 16 servings, but don't count on it. If you love caramel, or apples you might find yourself being a little stingy and it only making a serving for four. I will eat two apples, okay they are small to medium apples, with dip while I watch TV in the evening.

The biggest problem I have with this caramel dip is not having enough. For serving at a party I'm normally very disappointed I don't have enough to take back home. To be quite honest every time I've taken it to a Halloween or Harvest party it doesn't last more than an hour before it's gone. At the last party I had kids scooping the dip into their cups.
The most time consuming part of this recipe is unwrapping the caramels. Really. It's a 5 minutes recipe which can be made in five minutes of less. I pour the warm dip into small Ziplock containers and store in the refrigerator for handy snack size portions.
If you are hosting a Halloween, fall or Thanksgiving party or family get together this recipe will be very popular and you might want to have a print out of it ready for guest to take home.

Apple Kitchen Gadgets - I Love Kitchen Gadgets
I have drawers and cabinets full of kitchen gadgets, but only a few I use a lot. One is my apple slicer, it stays on the counter all the time during the fall. The other is my apple peeler. Besides being fun, using an apple corer and divider makes nice and even slices for dipping.
Apples and dip is great for after school snacks, many kids won't eat whole apples and will only eat sliced apples. An apple slicer is fast and easy, that's important for busy moms.
You Can Always Buy Caramel Apples - Premade Caramel and Chocolate Covered Apples
To me caramel apples are a tradition at the county fair and I can't leave the state fair without one. But, every now and then I want a sweet treat when I'm at the shopping mall and there is a gourmet candy shop with rows of caramel and chocolate covered apples in the display case.
Some are covered in peanuts, some in toffee, others drizzled in layer upon layer of white and dark chocolate. These giant apples cannot be just eaten on a stick but cut into slices and shared with a friend, normally a girlfriend, because that is who on my shopping trip.
