Why Photographers Should Use A Personalized USB Drive

A personalized memory stick has become the standard in wedding photography and quickly crossing over as a way to deliver senior photos. The packaging can be branded with the photographers name and wrapped in wedding party colors by placing in a simple white jewelers box with a lining and bow.

As technology advances the DVD is slowly becoming obsolete, no one wants to present themselves as "old school" or an amateur by presenting a product which may be unreadable in a few years. Some Macbook Pros don't even have DVD readers, how would that look when the bride and groom can't even open their photographs?

Photographed My First Wedding

First of all I will say I'm NOT a professional photographer, but a friend of mine approached me and begged me to photograph her daughters wedding, Although I protested, I'm not a professional photographer, she persisted and told me "But Dawn, I love your photographs and we want documentary style photographs, I have all the faith you will do a fantastic job.

The wedding was a success, the photographs turned out better than I expected and after editing them in Lightroom I saved the best photos on a DVD as a sneak peek to be shown at the gift opening the next day. To my surprise I could only save 270 images on the DVD.

How in the world would I present the bride and groom with all their photographs in personalized fashion? I found several different versions of custom USB drives, the challenge was finding a 16 GIG option with plenty of space not only for the full size photographs, but for the custom designs and the personalized wedding video from the photos.

Presentation is Key

Wedding Photographs are the most treasured memories of the special day and deserve to be stored and presented with a special touch and presentation. I plan on not only engraving their name and wedding date on the USB but finding a special gift box and lining it with satin to place their photos. Hopefully this will become a treasured memory along with the photographs.
